CRANMORE SCHOOL needed SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY BLOCK refurbishment
Cranmore School required a new science & technology block to accommodate its current and future needs. The project based on a traditional build was outside of budget and times scales. The school required a partnership that would enable them to design the building and interior quickly and professionally to a DFE specification. They also need a seamless project from design to build. Finding a company that could carry out a turnkey solution was critical to the project’s success. Cranmore School wanted to be able to see into the classroom from the corridor and present students’ work to people in the corridor. They also require the teaching technology to be integrated within the fitted furniture. It was also important to create a new environment which enabled them to still teach with the students in a U but provide an area where the students would carry out group work.

How Brookhouse refurbished Science & Technology Block at Cranmore school
BrookhouseUK partnered with Modulek to offer a full turnkey solution from the initial though to completion, providing a bespoke modular building with traditional finishes based on the needs of our client. Modulek undertook the design of the structure, including site-enabled works and groundworks. BrookhouseUK designed interior, and internal layouts, and provided FF& E consultancy along with a BIM Design package and product book, furniture design & manufacturing, supply and installation. BrookhouseUK created a design of a teaching wall which consisted of display shelving which could be viewed by the windows in the corridor. Along with this, the Triumph Board interactive flat panel displays were integrated into the teaching wall with 4no. sliding drywipe boards. The equipment was also integrated along with charging units. To satisfy the need of group work and a U shape, the rooms were designed with our laboratory workstation pods set out in a U shape around the room.
